BUILD A
CONNECTED
MARRIAGE

Personalized coaching to help you work through what's not working, strengthen what is, and build the marriage you both want.

YOUR MARRIAGE ISN'T WHERE YOU WANT IT TO BE.

Maybe you're stuck in the same conflicts, feeling distant or misunderstood, trying to recover from something painful, or wondering how a relationship that once felt so easy became so difficult.

Or maybe your marriage isn't in crisis at all. You love each other—you just know it could be healthier, closer, and more enjoyable than it is.

Wherever you are, the goal isn't simply to fix what's wrong. It's to help you build the kind of marriage you actually want to have.

WE KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO NEED HELP IN YOUR MARRIAGE.

For more than 20 years as a pastor and marriage coach, I've helped couples navigate conflict, disconnection, betrayal, intimacy struggles, and seasons when they weren't sure how to find their way back to each other.

But Kimberly and I also sat on the other side of that struggle. We've been brought very low at times, and I would say that some of the greatest strengths in our marriage today exist because of what we've had to overcome.

After nearly 30 years together, we've walked through seasons that exposed weaknesses in ourselves and our relationship—and forced us to learn healthier ways of communicating, connecting, healing, and loving each other.

Those experiences have profoundly shaped the way I work with couples today. I don't believe great marriages are built by two people who get everything right. They're built by two people who learn how to face what's difficult, grow through it, and intentionally build something better together.

WHAT DO THRIVING COUPLES DO DIFFERENTLY?

Through both my own marriage and years of helping other couples, I became increasingly interested in a simple question: What do the couples who truly thrive actually do differently?

That question led me deeper into decades of marriage research, including my training and certification through the Gottman Institute, biblical wisdom, and more than 20 years of firsthand experience working with couples.

Again and again, the same four fundamentals kept rising to the surface.

Thriving marriages aren't perfect. But they tend to do four things particularly well.

Over time, I brought these together into what I now call The Four Keys of a Thriving Marriage.

I use the Four Keys as a framework to help couples identify what's working, where they're getting stuck, and where intentional changes can make the greatest difference.

THE FOUR KEYS OF

A THRIVING MARRIAGE:

1. Independent

Health & Happiness

Each partner takes responsibility for their own emotional health, happiness, patterns, reactions, and relational well-being.

____

2. Connection

& Responsiveness

They recognize and respond to each other's bids for attention, affection, support, and connection—helping each other feel seen, valued, and loved.

____

3. Healthy Conflict

& Co-Regulation

They learn to manage stress together—soothing nervous systems instead of triggering them—and navigating conflict, hurt, and repair constructively.

____

4. Friendship

& Enjoyment

They intentionally invest in friendship, affection, play, romance, and shared experiences that keep the relationship enjoyable and alive.

We don't use the FOUR HABITS as a formula; we use them as a framework.

Through assessment and conversation, we identify the deeper patterns, stressors, beliefs, and relational dynamics affecting your marriage. Then we personalize the counseling and training around the areas where you need it most.

You get the structure of research-informed, biblically grounded fundamentals with the personal attention of individualized coaching.

Most couples don’t struggle because they lack love — they struggle because they haven't developed FOUR specific relational habits.

The GOOD NEWS is that these habits are largely TEACHABLE.

“After nearly 30 years of marriage, raising six children, and more than 20 years helping couples, I’ve learned that great marriages aren’t built by avoiding struggle. They’re built by learning how to navigate it together, create safety for one another, stay connected, and being intentional about the relationship you want to build.”

                       — Jacob Reeve

 KNOWING THE FOUR

 HABITS ISN'T THE SAME

 AS LIVING THEM.

Understanding the concepts is one thing; recognizing how they show up in dozens of everyday interactions—and learning how to change those interactions—is another.

That's why we call it training.

The quality of our relationships is largely shaped by the quality of our everyday interactions. We help you turn these four fundamentals into real-life changes in how you respond, connect, communicate, and navigate life together.

Think of it as the relational training most of us were never given.

And because every relationship is different, we use assessment throughout the process to personalize your training and measure the tangible changes you're making in real life.
