THE WHOLENESS METHOD™

 FIVE COMMITMENTS OF   PERSONAL WHOLENESS

Wholeness is the process of becoming aligned with truth, free from what keeps us stuck, and capable of loving God, ourselves, and others.

The Wholeness Method is about FIVE Lifelong Commitments:

1. Commitment to Truth – What is real?

2. Commitment to Ownership – What is mine?

3. Commitment to Letting Go – What must I let go of?

4. Commitment to Growth – Who am I becoming?

5. Commitment to Service – What am I living for?

Real transformation is rarely the result of a single breakthrough. It is the fruit of daily commitments that gradually reshape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and experience God.

The Wholeness Method is built around five lifelong commitments that guide every counseling relationship and every stage of personal growth.

1. Commitment to Truth

John 8:32 - “...you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”

See yourself honestly.

Healing begins with reality.

Most people live from a story they unconsciously created to survive—one shaped by fear, wounds, shame, and unmet needs. Until that story is brought into the light, it quietly shapes every thought, emotion, relationship, and decision.

Together, we learn to distinguish between the different parts of ourselves:

  • The Child — The part of you that sees itself as an innocent, unknowing and vulnerable child, who interacts with the world out of curiosity, but whom the world takes advantage of, betrays, steals from, and victimizes.

  • The Ego — The part of you you developed to protect the child. As your nervous system adapted to survive the world you experienced. It seeks protection, control, approval, or significance in order to keep you safe.

  • The Soul (Psyche) — The part of you that experiences your thoughts, emotions and desires.

  • The Spirit — The part of you that governs your deepest beliefs, judgments, values, and attachments.

  • The True Self — The part of you that observes the rest and the only one who can integrate, appreciate and govern the rest. The awakened observer, created in God's image and being transformed into Christ's likeness.

We also explore:

  • The story you've been telling yourself.

  • The emotions you are carrying.

  • The beliefs supporting that story.

  • We question which parts are true...

  • ...and which parts are no longer serving you.

Freedom begins when truth replaces illusion.

2. Commitment to Ownership

Luke 15:17-20 - The prodigal son, accepting truth and ownership…

Take responsibility for your story.

Healing requires ownership—not blame.

You are not responsible for everything that has happened to you, but you are responsible for what happens next. The story of your life will not be about what happened to you, but about what you did in response. Authority is the power to author. You have total authority over your own life but you must take ownership of it if you want something to change.

We help you take ownership of three areas:

Your Past

Face your wounds honestly.

Without excuses.
Without denial.
Without victimhood.

Healing begins when reality is accepted with courage and compassion.

Your Present

Recognize that your past does not have to control your present.

You can choose which beliefs, judgments, habits, and emotional patterns continue to shape your life.

Your Future

Your life will ultimately be remembered less for what happened to you and more for how you responded.

Wholeness develops an overcoming spirit that writes a new chapter.

3. Commitment to Letting Go

Hebrews 12:1-2 - "Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us... fixing our eyes on Jesus..."

Let go of what no longer gives life.

Transformation requires both receiving something new and releasing what no longer belongs.

One of the central practices of The Wholeness Method is what we call The Divine Exchange.

Each day we intentionally bring our fears, shame, bitterness, unhealthy attachments, distorted beliefs, and old identities before God, exchanging them for truth, peace, love, and freedom.

We learn to release:

  • Limiting beliefs

  • Harmful judgments

  • Scarcity/Poverty Mindsets

  • Fear-based attachments

  • Old identities

  • Unhealthy habits

  • Relational patterns that keep us stuck

As we grow, transformation naturally spreads into every area of life:

  • Our inner story

  • Our relationships

  • Our home

  • Our work

  • Our daily habits

Wholeness is never isolated. It changes everything.

4. Commitment to Transformation

2 Cor. 3:18 - "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."

Become who you were created to be.

Growth is not about striving to become someone else.

It is about continually becoming more aligned with who God created you to be.

Through intentional daily practices we cultivate continual transformation.

We learn to:

  • Behold Christ as our mirror and model.

  • Embrace the Spirit's internal fruit as Standard

  • Remember our truest identity.

  • Renew our minds.

  • Develop healthier beliefs.

  • Build life-giving habits.

  • Strengthen emotional maturity.

  • Grow in wisdom, courage, humility, and love.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is continual transformation.

5. Commitment to a Mission

Ephesians 2:10 - "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

Love beyond yourself.

Wholeness naturally overflows into love and service to others.

As we become healthier, our attention gradually shifts from simply healing ourselves to blessing others. A crucial final step for sustained health and wholeness is finding a community to serve within.

Every healthy life eventually becomes a life of contribution.

We seek to serve:

  • Our spouse

  • Our children

  • Our family

  • Our friends

  • Our church

  • Our community

  • The unique people God has entrusted to us

  • A life calling

Healing reaches its fullest expression when it becomes love in action.
